By air
Samarkand (SKD) takes flights from Tashkent, Istanbul, Dubai and Moscow. Alternative: Tashkent (TAS) plus the high-speed train.
By rail
Afrosiyob and Sharq: Tashkent to Samarkand in about 1 h 40 min. Buy tickets 2–3 weeks ahead.
By road
Highway M39 from Tashkent, 4–5 hours; 3 hours from Bukhara. Parking at the centre is free.
